You can't see Jonathan, enemies, or anything of use.ģ. Camera angles are like someone said ,"How can I take Metal Gear Solid 1 angles and make them even worse." If you get backed into a corner or are near a building you can often lose site of literally everything. Game will randomly switch to whoever it feels like, often times in the middle of a player action.Ģ. I agree completely with everything said here. I recommend giving it another chance, but if you are still not enjoying the combat system, then it's better to move on to other games. But I can understand that it's not every ones cup of tea. But after a few fights you will quickly get a hang of it. If you want to be more aggressive, just get the "Blood Barrier" Defensive skill which basically allows you absorb a bunch of hits and costs no blood and no stamina to use ( just has a recharge timer ).Ĭombat might take a while to get used to if you are new to this sort of system. If you feel your health or stamina is too low, then you upgrade them in your skills menu if you have enough XP. Upgrade your weapons at workbench if you feel like you are not doing enough damage. Once you are comfortable with the combat system and have some decent upgrades you can go absolutely berserk. Don't be greedy with your attacks or dodges, manage your stamina and you will do just fine. Wait for enemies to attack, observe their attack pattern, dodge their attacks and only attack them when they are vulnerable. Try isolating enemies, taking on one at a time. Don't blindly rush in and mash your attack button. Also your blood powers like "Claws" will break their guard and damage them.ĭon't play this game like you play devil may cry or other hack and slash games. If enemies are in block stance, then they will immediately parry your main/off hand attacks. Also when you are biting enemies you recharge your stamina and you are also invincible and are invulnerable to any sort of damage. When you are biting enemies you charge your blood bar. So it takes longer and longer to stun them every time you completely deplete their stamina. For example an enemy that starts out with 2 bars -> you stun and bite the enemy -> they regenerate their stamina to have 3 or 4 bars. Once you deplete their stamina meter, the number of bars increases. Enemies have a certain number off stamina bars in the beginning, a single bar, or two or a lot more. Once it is complete depleted, you can Bite enemies to suck their blood. You can stun them using any main/off hand weapon that deals "stun" damage. There is a small white meter below enemies heath which you can think of as basically your enemies stamina bar. Shooting guns also doesn't consume any stamina. Your blood powers like the Claws don't consume any stamina. Plus it makes sense why they are not easy to perform because they reward you by instantly stunning enemies, depleting their entire stamina allowing you to bite them / knocking them down for fairly long time. You just need to practice for a bit to get the timing down and find out which attacks you are comfortable to parry. After playing for a while I can confirm that I am able to parry consistently. The timing is indeed quite strict but definitely not sh!t lol. Parrying is only possible with two handed weapons. But after playing for a few minutes as soon as you get the tutorial for levelling up, it is upgraded to much better version. In the very beginning your Dodge ability is pretty bad. Only attack a few times and Always make sure you have enough stamina left so that you can dodge attacks and fall back to recharge your stamina. Don't be greedy with your attacks or dodges or you will deplete your entire stamina before you know it. So the main principal of the combat is to basically manage your stamina while you are fighting enemies. You have a stamina bar and your main hand weapon attacks, offhand weapon attacks and your dodge consume stamina. it is on by default and believe me it really messes up with your lock on when you are fighting multiple enemies because your camera just keeps jumping between them and it becomes a cluster ♥♥♥♥ to handle. Go to "Gameplay" settings and disable "Auto Lock" on enemies. And I am playing with keyboard and mouse and doing just fine. It is pretty simplistic but also very different from other hack and slash games. Originally posted by Berserker:I am not sure why people are having trouble with this combat system.
